Liudmyla Dorozhko – amateur actress playing in the Polish production

The second participant of this project is Liudmyla Dorozhko, who’s an amateur actress taking part in the play “Right you are! If you think so” directed by Gianluci Iumiento.

How did Liudmyla end up participating in the project? “I saw a post with information about this project on one of the Facebook groups. I decided right away to participate in it, because I love everything related to the theatre and the plays, as well as the emotions felt when watching them. Due to the fact that I’m a representative of the Ukrainian minority in Wrocław, I really wanted to share my observations and feelings associated with living in a foreign country. Moreover, I also wanted to find out what my compatriots think about it and how they experience it, particularly after the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has become full-blown war. The project along with its workshops provided me with the feeling that I’m not alone with my experiences and that I have the opportunity to take part in something really important, which can help others to understand the importance of empathy, as well as to open their eyes to the problems of minorities, and to show that not everything is always the way you think so. My story in Poland started in 2016, but a year and a half ago I decided that I wanted to go back home, so that’s what I did. Then, 24 February 2022 changed the lives of millions of people and my life too. I understood that I needed to ask my Polish neighbours for temporary hospitality and I left for Wrocław once again. Now, I work in a financial company and I support Ukraine, while also trying to get back to exploring the world through travel, because this war has significantly changed my priorities, as well as my entire life.
